Broxbourne 1st XI 4 - 2 South Herts 1st XI

An unlucky result for South Herts who had taken an early lead when Sue Richardson fired in a fine shot form the top of the D. Herts found themselves behind by half time when first a penalty corner shot from Broxbourne that appeared too high was blocked by Mo Gough only for Broxbourne to tap in the rebound. They quickly added a second when a forward was left unmarked to the right of the goal and scored at the near post.

Herts pulled themselves level in the second half when Anna Walker fed the ball to Sarah Jowett who ran through on goal and squared for Caroline Stanners to score off the post.

With five minutes remaining Herts looking to be heading for a fine draw against the top of the table team. Unfortunately, as the Herts players tired, their concentration waivered and they contrived to let in two quick goals. A good team performance but sadly not a result to match.
