South Herts 2nd XI v Cheshunt 2nd XI

Saturday 4th October saw South Herts 2nd XI play some awesome hockey, but was a frustrating game of missed opportunity against Cheshunt. A team constantly on the attack, kept the ball in the opposition’s half for at least 90% of the game had more than their fair share of shots on goal… the score fails to give credit to the drive and determination shown by this South Herts Team, fortunately for Cheshunt, their goalie was on top form and kept us at bay. Cheshunt managed a few breaks but a strong back line up brushed off all attacks and the agility of Number One goalie, Glenys, showing some lovely moves and skill especially in the closing 5 minutes of the game saved the south herts team with a one on one spectacular save preventing Cheshunt sneaking in a late goal.

The team playing some lovely hockey, showed great spirit and resolve throughout the game making them stronger and more dominating than we have been in the past. It was a great game and every team member had their awesome, brilliant moment which resulted in great attempts at the goal from almost everyone.

Though it was difficult to single out one player as everyone deserves equal credit for their effort during this game, man of the match went to Esther Strous.
