Broxbourne 5th XI v South Herts 2nd XI

A late push back against Broxbourne 5ths, when everybody had negotiated the instructions to find the pitch with confusing directions, started well for the South Herts 2nds. An inexperienced attack played well against an inexperienced goalie. They were well supported by a solid defence who played well, keeping the opposition clear of our goal. A frustrating inability to score by South Herts despite opportunities meant the half time score was 0:0.

The second half was played mostly under floodlights as mercifully the blinding sun had dropped behind the buildings. A ball change of white to orange was requested by our goalie as seeing it was becoming difficult. A change of positions was also made to address the problems of the first half. A bout of sustained pressure from Broxbourne 5ths followed, resulting in a goal for them, taking the score to 1:0. The team responded very well, upping the attack until a cross from Shelly Farmer found Chris Field, taking the score to 1:1. Unfortunately we couldn't get a winner in the remaining time so it finished 1:1.
