Hertsmere team win bronze at Herts Youth Games

South Herts 2nd XI Captain, Sarah Withers, was the Manager of the Hertsmere Girls team that competed in the Herts Youth Games on May 10th at the Herts Sports Village in Hatfield. The seven-a-side team competed against eight other teams representing Hertfordshire Local Authorities and after a slow start won their last four games to clinch the bronze medal. Most of the squad of ten Year 8 & 9 girls were from Dame Alice Owens and were selected following two training sessions at the school. This success bodes well for the start of the Potters Bar/South Herts Hockey Club Junior Section in September 2008.
